2 Nephi 30

Nephi warns his descendants not to consider themselves more righteous than repentant Gentiles. Repentant Gentiles become covenant people. After the book comes forth, Gentiles carry it to Nephi's remnant, who will learn their Jerusalem origins. God will judge righteously and bring millennial peace.

No One Is Better Than Anyone Else

Listen, my friends: I need to tell you something. Don’t think you’re more righteous than the Gentiles will be. If you don’t keep God’s commandments, you’ll fall just like they will. And don’t assume the Gentiles will be wiped out forever.

Here’s the truth: any Gentile who turns back to God becomes one of his covenant people. And any Jew who refuses to turn back will be cut off. The Lord only makes promises to those who repent and believe in his Son, the Holy One of Israel.

The Book and the Restoration

Let me tell you what’s coming for both Jews and Gentiles. After the book I’ve told you about comes out and is written for the Gentiles—and then sealed up again by the Lord—many people will believe what it says. They’ll carry those words to what’s left of our people.

Then our descendants will finally learn about us—how we came from Jerusalem, and that they’re descended from the Jews.

The gospel of Jesus Christ will be taught to them. They’ll be brought back to the knowledge their ancestors had—the knowledge of Jesus Christ that was among their forefathers.

Then they'll celebrate, because they'll know it's a blessing from God. The darkness will begin to lift from their eyes. Within a few generations, they'll become a white and delightsome people.

The scattered Jews will also begin to believe in Christ. They’ll start gathering together across the land. All who believe in Christ will become a blessed people.

The Lord’s Work Begins

The Lord God will begin his work among every nation, tribe, language, and people—bringing about the restoration of his people across the earth.

The Lord God will judge the poor with righteousness and defend the humble with fairness. He’ll strike the earth with his word, and with his breath he’ll destroy the wicked.

The time is coming soon when the Lord God will make a great division among the people. He’ll destroy the wicked. He’ll protect his people—even if it means destroying the wicked with fire.

Righteousness will be his strength, and faithfulness will be his power.

A World Made New

Then the wolf will live with the lamb. The leopard will lie down with the young goat. The calf, the young lion, and the fattened calf will be together—and a little child will lead them.

The cow and the bear will graze side by side. Their young will rest together. The lion will eat straw like an ox.

A nursing baby will play near a cobra’s den. A toddler will reach into a viper’s nest.

Nothing will hurt or destroy on all my holy mountain. The earth will be filled with the knowledge of the Lord, like water covering the sea.

Every Secret Revealed

Everything from every nation will be made known. All things will be revealed to humanity.

Nothing will stay secret—it will all be revealed. No dark deed will stay hidden—it will all be brought into the light. Nothing sealed on earth will stay sealed.

Everything that’s ever been revealed to people will be made known on that day. Satan will have no power over people’s hearts—at least not for a long time. Now, my friends, I have to end my message here.
