Moroni 2

Moroni continues wandering in hiding while the Lamanites kill those refusing to deny Christ. He records Christ's words to his twelve disciples, instructing them to give the Holy Ghost by laying hands on others in his name after prayer.

The Gift of the Holy Spirit

These are the words Christ spoke to the twelve disciples he had chosen, as he placed his hands on them. He called each by name and said: 'Pray to the Father in my name with all your strength. After you’ve done this, you’ll have the power to give the Holy Spirit to anyone you lay hands on.

Christ said this when he first appeared. The crowd didn’t hear it, only the disciples. And everyone they laid hands on received the Holy Spirit.
