Moroni 4

Moroni has recorded ordination procedures for church leaders. He provides the prayer for blessing bread representing Christ's flesh, asking God to sanctify it so partakers might witness their willingness to take Christ's name and keep his commandments.

The Prayer for the Bread

The leaders and priests gave the bread and wine to the church. They did it the way Christ told them to. So we know the way is true. The older priest led the prayer. They knelt down with the church and prayed to the Father in the name of Christ. They said,

O God, the Father who lives forever, we ask you in the name of your Son Jesus Christ to bless this bread for everyone who eats it. Help them eat it to remember the body of your Son. Help them promise you, O God the Father who lives forever, that they want to take your Son’s name. Help them always remember him and keep his commandments that he has given them. Then they can always have his Spirit with them. Amen.
