Search the Words of Isaiah
I tell you that you should search these things. I say to you: Search these things carefully. The words of Isaiah are very important. He spoke about all things for my people who are from the house of Israel. So he must also speak to the Gentiles. Everything he said has happened and will happen, just like he said.
So listen to my words. Write the things I have told you. When the Father decides, they will go to the Gentiles. Anyone who listens to my words, turns away from sin, and is baptized will be saved. Search the prophets. Many of them tell about these things.
Jesus Asks for the Records
When Jesus had said these words, he spoke to them again. After he had explained all the Scriptures they had, he said to them: 'There are other Scriptures I want you to write that you don’t have.'
He said to Nephi: 'Bring the record that you have kept.' Nephi brought the records and laid them before him. Jesus looked at them and said:
The Missing Record About the Saints
'I tell you the truth. I told my servant Samuel, the Lamanite, to tell this people something. He told them that on the day when the Father honored his name in me, many saints would rise from the dead. They would appear to many people and serve them.' Jesus said to them: 'Didn’t this happen?' His followers answered him and said: 'Yes, Lord. Samuel did tell what would happen, just like you said. And it all came true.' Jesus said to them: 'Why didn’t you write about this? Write that many saints rose and appeared to many people and served them.'
Nephi remembered that this thing had not been written. Jesus told them to write it. So they wrote it just like he said.
When Jesus had explained all the Scriptures to them, he told them to teach the things he had explained to them.
