Search the Words of Isaiah
“You need to search these things. I’m commanding you: study them carefully. Isaiah’s words carry enormous weight. He spoke about everything concerning my people—the house of Israel. So he must also be speaking to the Gentiles. Everything he said has come true and will come true, exactly as he spoke it. So pay attention to my words. Write down what I’ve told you. When the time is right—according to the Father’s will—these words will go out to the Gentiles. Whoever listens to my words, turns from their sins, and is baptized will be saved. Search the prophets—many of them testify about these things.”
A Missing Prophecy
After Jesus finished explaining all the scriptures they had, he said to them: “There are other scriptures I want you to write down—ones you don’t have yet.” He turned to Nephi: “Bring me the record you’ve been keeping.” When Nephi brought the records and laid them before him, Jesus looked them over and said:
“I commanded my servant Samuel the Lamanite to tell you that on the day the Father glorified his name in me, many saints would rise from the dead, appear to many people, and minister to them. Didn’t he say that?” His disciples answered: “Yes, Lord. Samuel prophesied just as you said, and it all happened.” Jesus said to them: “Then why didn’t you write it down—that many saints rose and appeared to many people and ministered to them?” Nephi suddenly remembered they hadn’t written that down. Jesus commanded them to write it, so they wrote it just as he said.
After Jesus had finished explaining all the scriptures they’d written, he told them to teach the things he’d just explained.
