Alma 3:2

Now many women and children had been slain with the sword, and also many of their flocks and their herds; and also many of their fields of grain were destroyed, for they were trodden down by the hosts of men.

Many women and children had been killed with the sword. Many of their animals were killed too. Many of their grain fields were destroyed because the armies walked all over them.

The war had devastated them. Many women and children had been killed. Their livestock were slaughtered, and their grain fields trampled flat by armies.
