and whether they were in the body or out of the body, they could not tell: for it did seem unto them like a transfiguration of them, that they were changed from this body of flesh, into an immortal state, that they could behold the things of God.

Simple English

They could not tell if they were in their bodies or out of their bodies. It seemed to them like they had changed. It was like they had changed from bodies that could die into bodies that would live forever. Now they could see the things of God.

They couldn’t tell if they were in their bodies or outside them. It felt like they’d been transformed—changed from flesh into an immortal state where they could see the things of God.
