And It came to pass that I spake with him, that if he would hearken unto my words, as the Lord liveth and as I live, even so that if he would hearken unto our words, we would spare his life.

Simple English

I talked with him. I said: If you listen to my words, as sure as the Lord lives and as sure as I live, if you listen to our words, we will let you live.

Paraphrase

I told him: 'Listen to me. As surely as God lives, and as I live—if you listen to us, we’ll spare your life.'
