Ether 4

Moroni explains these visions were kept by Benjamin, revealed after Christ appeared to Nephites, then sealed again due to unbelief. Christ declares greater things will be revealed when Gentiles and Israel repent and exercise faith. He promises signs, blessings, and judgment, affirming He is Father, light, and truth.

The Brother of Jared’s Vision Is Sealed

The Lord told the brother of Jared to come down from the mountain. He told him to write the things he had seen. But the Lord said these writings should not go to people until after he was lifted up on the cross. This is why King Benjamin kept them hidden. They could not go to the world until after Christ showed himself to his people. After Christ showed himself to his people, he told them to share these writings. After that, they have all stopped believing. There is no one except the Lamanites. They have said no to the gospel of Christ. So the Lord tells me to hide these writings in the earth again.

I have written on these plates the very things the brother of Jared saw. Nothing greater has ever been shown than what was shown to the brother of Jared. The Lord has told me to write them. So I have written them. He told me to seal them up. He also told me to seal up their meaning. So I have sealed up the tools that help us understand them. I did what the Lord told me to do.

Jesus Speaks About Unbelief

The Lord says to me: 'They will not go to the Gentiles until the day they are sorry for their sins and become clean before the Lord.' 'When they have faith in me, just like the brother of Jared did, then they will become holy in me. Then I will show them the things the brother of Jared saw. I will share all my secrets with them. I am Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Father of the heavens and the earth, and all things in them.'

'Anyone who argues against the word of the Lord will be cursed. Anyone who says these things are not true will be cursed. I will not show them any greater things. I am Jesus Christ. I am the one speaking.' 'When I give the command, the heavens open and shut. When I speak, the earth shakes. When I give the command, the people will pass away by fire.' 'If someone does not believe my words, they do not believe my followers. If I do not speak, you can judge for yourself. You will know it is me speaking on the last day.'

'But if someone believes these things I have spoken, I will visit them with my Spirit. They will know and tell others. Because of my Spirit, they will know these things are true. My Spirit tells people to do good.' 'Whatever tells people to do good comes from me. Good comes from no one except me. I am the one who leads people to all good. If someone will not believe my words, they will not believe that I am real. If they will not believe me, they will not believe the Father who sent me. I am the Father. I am the light, the life, and the truth of the world.'

Jesus Invites All People to Come to Him

'Come to me, Gentiles. I will show you greater things. I will share the knowledge that is hidden because of unbelief.' 'Come to me, house of Israel. I will show you the great things the Father has saved for you since the world began. These have not come to you because of unbelief.'

'When you tear away the wall of unbelief that keeps you in your terrible state of sin, hard hearts, and blind minds, then the great and wonderful things will be shown to you. These have been hidden from the world since it began. When you call on the Father in my name with a broken heart and a sorry spirit, you will know that the Father has remembered the promise he made to your fathers, house of Israel.' 'Then my secrets that I had my servant John write down will be opened for all people to see. Remember, when you see these things, you will know that the time has come. They will really happen.' 'When you get this record, you will know that the work of the Father has started all over the land.'

'So be sorry for your sins, all you people on earth. Come to me and believe in my gospel. Be baptized in my name. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved. But whoever does not believe will be punished. Signs will follow those who believe in my name.' 'God blesses whoever stays faithful to my name until the last day. They will be lifted up to live in the kingdom prepared for them since the world began. I am the one who has spoken this. Amen.'
