And now, when Ammon saw that he was permitted to speak, he went forth and bowed himself before the king; and rising again, he said, O king, I am very thankful before God this day, that I am yet alive, and am permitted to speak; and I will endeavor to speak with boldness:

When Ammon saw that he could speak, he went forward and bowed before the king. Then he stood up again and said: “O king, I am very thankful to God today that I am still alive and can speak. I will try to speak with courage.”
Paraphrase
When Ammon realized he had permission to speak, he stepped forward and bowed before the king. Standing up again, he said, “Your Majesty, I’m so grateful to God today that I’m still alive and allowed to speak. I’m going to be direct with you:”
