Mosiah 7:11

And now, for this cause have I suffered that ye should be preserved, that I might inquire of you, or else I should have caused that my guards should have put you to death.—Ye are permitted to speak.

'I have kept you alive so I could ask you questions. If I had not, my guards would have killed you. You may speak now.'

'The only reason I let you live was so I could question you. Otherwise my guards would have killed you. You may speak.'
