Mosiah 27:8
1830 Edition
Now the sons of Mosiah was numbered among the unbelievers; and also one of the sons of Alma was numbered among them, he being called Alma, after his father; nevertheless he became a very wicked and an idolatrous man. And he was a man of many words, and did speak much flattery to the people; therefore he led many of the people to do after the manner of his iniquities.
Changes
Simple English
The sons of Mosiah didn’t believe. One of Alma’s sons didn’t believe either. His name was also Alma, named after his father. But he became a very bad person who worshiped false gods. He was good at talking and said nice things to trick people. So he led many people to do bad things like him.
Paraphrase
Now Mosiah’s sons were among the nonbelievers. So was one of Alma’s sons—also named Alma, after his father. But this younger Alma had become wicked and worshiped idols. He was a smooth talker who knew how to flatter people, and he led many into sin.
