For thou hast said that God himself should come down among the children of men; and now for this cause thou shalt be put to death, unless thou wilt recall all the words which thou hast spoken evil concerning me and my people.

“You said that God himself would come down to live with people. For this reason you will be killed. Unless you take back all the bad things you said about me and my people.”

Paraphrase

“You said that God himself would come down among the people. For this, you’ll be executed—unless you take back everything you’ve said against me and my people.”
