for it were not possible that our father Lehi could have remembered all these things, to have taught them to his children, except it were for the help of these plates: for he having been taught in the language of the Egyptians, therefore he could read these engravings, and teach them to his children, that thereby they could teach them to their children, and so fulfilling the commandments of God, even down to this present time.

Our father Lehi could not have remembered all these things to teach his children without help from these plates. He learned the Egyptian language, so he could read these writings. He taught them to his children so they could teach their children. This is how they followed God’s commands down to today.

Our father Lehi could never have remembered all these things to teach his children without these plates. Because he knew Egyptian, he could read these engravings and teach them to his children, who taught them to their children. That’s how God’s commandments have been kept alive down to this very day.
