Behold, the Lamanites your brethren, whom ye hate, because of their filthiness and the cursings which hath come upon their skins, are more righteous than you; for they have not forgotten the commandment of the Lord, which was given unto our fathers, that they should have, save it were one wife; and concubines they should have none; and there should not be whoredoms committed among them.

Simple English

You hate your Lamanite brothers because of their dirty ways and dark skin. But they are better than you. They have not forgotten the Lord’s commandment given to our fathers. They should have only one wife. They should not have other women. They should not do sexual sins.

Paraphrase

Look at the Lamanites, your relatives. You hate them because of their dark skin and the curse that came on them. But they’re more righteous than you. They haven’t forgotten what the Lord commanded our ancestors: each man should have one wife. No mistresses. No sexual sin.
