Jacob 2:9
1830 Edition
Wherefore, it burdeneth my soul, that I should be constrained because of the strict commandment which I have received from God, to admonish you, according to your crimes, to enlarge the wounds of those which are already wounded, instead of consoling and healing their wounds; and those which have not been wounded, instead of feasting upon the pleasing word of God, have daggers placed to pierce their souls, and wound their delicate minds.

Simple English
It makes my soul heavy that God tells me to warn you about your crimes. I must hurt those who are already hurt instead of healing them. Those who aren’t hurt will feel pain instead of hearing God’s good word.
Paraphrase
So it weighs on me that God has commanded me to confront your sins instead. Rather than comforting those who are already hurting, I have to reopen their wounds. And those who aren’t wounded yet—instead of feeding them encouraging truth, I have to drive painful words into their hearts and minds.
