Helaman 6:21

But behold, satan did stir up the hearts of the more parts of the Nephites, insomuch that they did unite with those bands of robbers, and did enter into their covenants, and their oaths, that they would protect and preserve one another, in whatsoever difficult circumstances they should be placed in, that they should not suffer for their murders, and their plunderings, and their stealings.

But Satan stirred up the hearts of most of the Nephites. They joined these robber groups. They made promises to protect each other no matter what. They promised not to be punished for their murders, robberies, and stealing.

But Satan stirred up most of the Nephites, and they joined these gangs instead. They made covenants and took oaths to protect each other no matter what, promising they wouldn’t suffer punishment for their murders, robberies, and theft.
