Helaman 5:3

yea, and this was not all; they were a stiffnecked people, insomuch that they could not be governed by the law nor justice, save it were to their destruction.

This was not all. They were stubborn people. They could not be ruled by law or fairness without being destroyed.

But that wasn’t all. The people were so stubborn that they couldn’t be governed by law or justice—the system itself was leading them toward destruction.
