Helaman 16:22

And many more things did the people imagine up in their hearts, which were foolish and vain; and they were much disturbed, for satan did stir them up to do iniquity continually; yea, he did go about, spreading rumors and contentions upon all the face of the land, that he might harden the hearts of the people against that which was good, and against that which should come;

The people made up many more foolish and empty things in their hearts. They were very upset. Satan kept stirring them up to do wrong. He went around spreading rumors and fighting all over the land. He did this to make people’s hearts hard against what was good. Against what was coming.

The people imagined many more foolish and empty ideas. They were deeply troubled, because Satan stirred them up to constant wickedness. He spread rumors and stirred up conflict across the whole land to harden people’s hearts against what was good and against what was coming.
