Helaman 1:8

And it came to pass as he was about to do this, behold, he was taken, and was tried according to the voice of the people, and condemned unto death; for he had raised up in rebellion, and sought to destroy the liberty of the people.

As he was about to do this, he was caught. The people put him on trial and sentenced him to death. He had started a rebellion. He had tried to destroy the people’s freedom.

Before he could launch his uprising, he was arrested, put on trial, and sentenced to death for trying to destroy the people’s freedom.
