And it came to pass that while he was journeying thither, being weighed down with sorrow, wading through much tribulation and anguish of soul, because of the wickedness of the people which was in the city of Ammonihah. And it came to pass that while Alma was thus weighed down with sorrow, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared unto him, saying,

And it came to pass that while he was journeying thither, being weighed down with sorrow, wading through much tribulation and anguish of soul, because of the wickedness of the people whicho wasere in the city of Ammonihah. And, it came to pass that while Alma was thus weighed down with sorrow, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared unto him, saying,:

Simple English

While he was traveling, he felt weighed down with sadness. He was going through much trouble and pain. This was because of the bad things the people in Ammonihah were doing. While Alma felt weighed down with sadness, an angel of the Lord appeared to him. The angel said:

As he traveled, he was crushed with sorrow, drowning in grief over the wickedness of the people in Ammonihah. While he was weighed down like this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him and said:
