And it also came to pass that whomsoever did belong to the church, that did not repent of their wickedness, and humble themselves before God; I mean those which were lifted up in the pride of their hearts; the same were rejected, and their names were blotted out, that their names were not numbered among those of the righteous;

Simple English

But people who did belong to the church needed to be sorry for their bad actions. They needed to be humble before God. Some people were proud in their hearts. These people were not allowed to stay. Their names were removed from the list of God’s people.

Paraphrase

But church members who refused to repent and humble themselves before God—those who stayed proud in their hearts—were rejected. Their names were removed from the list of the righteous.
