and they were inspired by the Zoramites, and the Amalekites, which were their Chief Captains and leaders, and by Zerahemnah, who was their Chief Captain, or their chief leader and commander; yea, they did fight like dragons; and many of the Nephites were slain by their hands; yea, for they did smite in two many of their head-plates; and they did pierce many of their breast-plates; and they did smite off many of their arms; and thus the Lamanites did smite in their fierce anger.

The Zoramites and Amalekites, who were their captains and leaders, pushed them to fight harder. So did Zerahemnah, who was their chief captain and commander. They fought like dragons. Many Nephites were killed by them. They cut through many of their head plates. They broke through many of their chest plates. They cut off many of their arms. The Lamanites attacked with wild anger.

They were driven on by the Zoramites and Amalekites who served as their chief captains, and by Zerahemnah, their supreme commander. They fought like wild beasts. Many Nephites fell under their hands. They split helmets in two, pierced through breastplates, and hacked off arms. The Lamanites struck with savage fury.
