For I knew that thou wast in bonds; yea, and I also knew that thou wast stoned for the word’s sake; and thou didst bear all these things with patience, because the Lord was with thee: and now thou knowest that the Lord did deliver thee.

Simple English

I knew that you were tied up in chains. I also knew that you were hit with stones because of God’s word. You handled all these things with patience. The Lord was with you. You know that the Lord saved you.

Paraphrase

I knew they threw you in prison. I knew they stoned you because of the word. And you endured it all patiently because the Lord was with you. Now you know firsthand that he delivered you.
