Alma 33:1

Now after Alma had spoken these words, they sent forth unto him desiring to know whether they should believe in one God, that they might obtain this fruit of which he had spoken, or how they should plant the seed, or the word, of which he had spoken, which he said must be planted in their hearts; or in what manner they should begin to exercise their faith.

After Alma spoke these words, they asked him questions. They wanted to know if they should believe in one God so they could get this fruit he talked about. They also wanted to know how they should plant the seed or word that he said must be planted in their hearts. They wanted to know how to start to have faith.

After Alma finished speaking, the people sent word to him with questions: Should they believe in one God to get this fruit he’d been talking about? How were they supposed to plant this seed—this word—in their hearts? What does it even look like to start exercising faith?
