Alma 32:39

Now this is not because the seed was not good; neither is it because the fruit thereof would not be desirable. But it is because your ground is barren, and ye will not nourish the tree; therefore ye cannot have the fruit thereof.

This is not because the seed was bad. It is not because the fruit would not be good. It is because your ground is empty. You will not feed the tree. So you cannot have the fruit from it.

“That’s not because the seed was bad, and it’s not because the fruit wouldn’t have been wonderful. It’s because your ground is barren and you wouldn’t nourish the tree. That’s why you can’t have the fruit.”
