1830 Edition

But if ye neglect the tree, and take no thought for its nourishment, behold, it will not get any root; and when the heat of the sun cometh and scorcheth it, and because it hath no root, it withereth away, and ye pluck it up and cast it out.

Influences

Matthew 13:6 (KJV)
And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away.

Changes

But if ye neglect the tree, and take no thought for its nourishment, behold, it will not get any root; and when the heat of the sun cometh and scorcheth it, and because it hath no root, it withereths away, and ye pluck it up and cast it out.

Simple English

But if you forget about the tree and do not feed it, it will not get any roots. When the hot sun comes and burns it, it will die because it has no roots. Then you will pull it up and throw it out.

Paraphrase

“But if you neglect the tree and don’t think about feeding it, it won’t develop roots. When the heat of the sun beats down and scorches it, it will wither away because it has no roots. Then you’ll just pull it up and throw it out.”
