Behold, I know that thou believest, but thou art possessed with a lying spirit, and ye have put off the spirit of God, that it may have no place in you; but the Devil hath power over you, and he doth carry you about, working devices, that he may destroy the children of God.

Changes

Simple English

I know you believe, but a lying spirit controls you. You have pushed away God’s Spirit so it can’t be in you. But the Devil has power over you. He carries you around, making plans to destroy God’s children.

Paraphrase

“I know you believe, but you’re possessed by a lying spirit. You’ve pushed away God’s Spirit so it has no place in you. The devil has power over you and carries you around, using you to destroy God’s children.”
