Alma 30:34

And now if we do not receive any thing for our labors in the church, what doth it profit us to labor in the church, save it were to declare the truth, that we may have rejoicings in the joy of our brethren?

If we don’t get anything for our work in the church, what good is it to work in the church? The only reason is to teach the truth so we can share in our brothers’ happiness.
