Alma 30:28

yea, they durst not make use of that which is their own, lest they should offend their priests, which do yoke them according to their desires, and hath brought them to believe by their traditions, and their dreams, and their whims, and their visions, and their pretended mysteries, that they should, if they did not do according to their words, offend some unknown being, which they say is God; a being which never hath been seen nor known, which never was nor never will be.

They don’t dare use what is theirs. They’re afraid to upset their priests, who control them however they want. You’ve made them believe through your traditions, dreams, strange ideas, visions, and made-up mysteries. You tell them if they don’t do what you say, they’ll upset some unknown being you call God. A being that has never been seen or known. A being that never was and never will be.
