and then they returned again, and began to establish peace in the land, being troubled no more for a time with their enemies.

Then they came back and began to have peace in the land. Their enemies did not trouble them for a while.

Then the army came home, and the Nephites began rebuilding peace in their land. For a while, at least, their enemies left them alone.
