Alma 28:11

and the bodies of many thousands are laid low in the earth, while the bodies of many thousands are mouldering in heaps upon the face of the earth; yea, and many thousands are mourning for the loss of their kindred, because they have reason to fear, according to the promises of the Lord, that they are consigned to a state of endless wo;

The bodies of many thousands are buried in the ground. The bodies of many thousands are piled up on the earth. Many thousands are crying for the loss of their family members. They have reason to be afraid, because the Lord promised that these family members will suffer forever.

The bodies of thousands lay buried in the earth. The bodies of thousands more lay rotting in heaps. And thousands were left mourning for those they’d lost, fearing—according to God’s promises—that their loved ones were now trapped in endless suffering.
