and from the first year to the fifteenth, has brought to pass the destruction of many thousand lives; yea, it has brought to pass an awful scene of bloodshed;

From the first year to the 15th year, many thousands of people died. It was a terrible scene of death.

From the first year to the fifteenth, thousands upon thousands had died. It was a horrifying bloodbath.
