Alma 24:13
1830 Edition
Behold, I say unto you, Nay, let us retain our swords, that they be not stained with the blood of our brethren: for perhaps, if we should stain our swords again, they can no more be washed bright through the blood of the Son of our great God, which shall be shed for the atonement of our sins.
Changes
Behold, I say unto you, Nay, let us retain our swords, that they be not stained with the blood of our brethren:; for perhaps, if we should stain our swords again, they can no more be washed bright through the blood of the Son of our great God, which shall be shed for the atonement of our sins.
Simple English
I say to you, no. Let’s keep our swords clean. Let’s not stain them with the blood of our brothers. If we stain our swords again, maybe they can never be washed bright again through the blood of the Son of our great God. His blood will be poured out to pay for our sins.
Paraphrase
No, let’s keep our swords clean. If we stain them with blood again, maybe they can never be washed clean through the blood of God’s Son—the blood he’ll shed to pay for our sins.
