therefore Ammon turned himself unto the king, and saith unto him, What wilt thou that I should do for thee, O king? And the king answered him not for the space of an hour, according to their time, for he knew not what he should say unto him.

Simple English

So Ammon turned to the king and said to him, “What do you want me to do for you, O king?” The king did not answer him for the space of an hour, according to their time. He did not know what he should say to him.
