Alma 1:8

Now the name of the man was Gideon; and it was him that was an instrument in the hands of God, in delivering the people of Limhi out of bondage.—

The man’s name was Gideon. God had used him to save the people of Limhi from slavery.

This man’s name was Gideon. He was the same one God had used to rescue Limhi’s people from captivity.
