Alma 1:32

For those who did not belong to their Church, did indulge themselves in sorceries, and in idolatry or idleness, and in bablings, and in envyings and strife; wearing costly apparel; being lifted up in the pride of their own eyes; lying, thieving, robbing, commiting whoredoms, and murdering, and all manner of wickedness; nevertheless, the law was put in force upon all those who did transgress it, inasmuch as it were possible.

People outside their church did many wrong things. They did witchcraft and worshiped idols. They were lazy. They gossiped. They were jealous and fought with others. They wore fancy clothes. They were proud. They lied, stole, robbed, had sex outside marriage, and murdered. They did all kinds of bad things. But the law punished everyone who broke it when it was possible.

Those outside the church practiced sorcery, worshiped idols, wasted time gossiping, and burned with envy and conflict. They wore expensive clothes, swollen with pride. They lied, stole, robbed, slept around, murdered, and committed every kind of evil. Still, the law was enforced against lawbreakers as much as possible.
