Nevertheless, there were many among them who began to be proud, and began to contend warmly with their adversaries, even unto blows; yea, they would smite one another with their fists.

But many church members became proud. They argued angrily with their enemies. They even got into fistfights.

Even so, some church members grew proud. They argued hotly with their critics, even coming to blows. They’d actually punch each other.
