Nevertheless this did not put an end to the spreading of priestcraft through the land: for there was many which loved the vain things of the world, and they went forth preaching false doctrines; and this they did for the sake of riches and honor.

But this did not stop priestcraft from spreading. Many people loved the things of the world. They went around teaching false things. They did this to get rich and famous.

But that didn’t stop priestcraft from spreading. Many people loved worldly status and wealth. They went around preaching false teachings for money and honor.
