1830 Edition

And it came to pass that when two hundred and ten years had passed away there were many churches in the land; yea, there were churches which professed to know the Christ, and yet they did deny the more parts of his gospel, insomuch that they did receive all manner of wickedness, and did administer that which was sacred unto him to whom it had been forbidden, because of unworthiness.

Changes

And it came to pass that when two hundred and ten years had passed away there were many churches in the land; yea, there were many churches which professed to know the Christ, and yet they did deny the more parts of his gospel, insomuch that they did receive all manner of wickedness, and did administer that which was sacred unto him to whom it had been forbidden, because of unworthiness.

Simple English

When 210 years had passed, there were many churches in the land. Many churches said they knew Christ. But they denied most of his teachings. They did all kinds of wicked things. They let unworthy people do sacred things that were forbidden for them.

Paraphrase

By the 210th year, churches had multiplied everywhere. Many claimed to know Christ but rejected most of his gospel. They embraced wickedness and allowed unworthy people to perform sacred ordinances.
