and thus there became a great inequality in all the land, insomuch that the church began to be broken up; yea, insomuch that in the thirtieth year the church was broken up in all the land, save it were among a few of the Lamanites, which were converted unto the true faith; and they would not depart from it, for they were firm, and steadfast, and immoveable, willing with all diligence to keep the commandments of the Lord.

So there was a big gap between people in all the land. The church started to break apart. In the 30th year the church was broken up in all the land. Only a few of the Lamanites kept the true faith. They would not leave it. They were strong and did not move away from God. They worked hard to keep God’s rules.

A terrible inequality spread across the land, and the church started falling apart. By the thirtieth year, the church had collapsed everywhere—except among a few converted Lamanites who held to the true faith. They wouldn’t abandon it. They were solid, steady, unshakeable, determined to keep God’s commandments no matter what.
