1 Nephi 7:5

And it came to pass that the Lord did soften the heart of Ishmael, and also his household, insomuch that they took their journey with us down into the wilderness to the tent of our father.

The Lord softened Ishmael’s heart and his family’s hearts. They decided to travel with us down to the wilderness to our father’s tent.

The Lord softened Ishmael’s heart—and his whole family’s too—so they packed up and came with us into the wilderness to my father’s tent.
