And I also spake unto him, saying, surely the Lord hath commanded us to do this thing. And shall we not be diligent in keeping the commandments of the Lord? Therefore, if thou wilt go down into the wilderness to my father, thou shalt have place with us.

Changes

Simple English

I also said to him: The Lord has commanded us to do this thing. Shouldn’t we obey the Lord’s commands? So if you come to the desert with my father, you will have a place with us.

Paraphrase

“Look, God commanded us to do this. Shouldn’t we obey God’s commands? Come to the wilderness with us, to my father. You’ll have a place with our family.”
