And I did read many things unto them, which were written in the Book of Moses; but that I might more fully persuade them to believe in the Lord their Redeemer, wherefore I did read unto them that which was written by the Prophet Isaiah; for I did liken all scriptures unto us, that it might be for our profit and learning.

I read many things to them from the Book of Moses. I wanted to convince them more fully to believe in the Lord who saves them. So I read to them what the prophet Isaiah wrote. I compared all scriptures to us so we could learn and grow from them.

Paraphrase

I read them many things from the Book of Moses. But to better persuade them to believe in the Lord their Redeemer, I read them Isaiah’s writings. I applied all scriptures to our situation, so they’d profit us and teach us.
