1 Nephi 13:17

and I beheld that their mother Gentiles was gathered together upon the waters, and upon the land also, to battle against them;

I saw that their mother Gentiles gathered on the waters and on the land to fight against them.

Their mother nations gathered armies on land and sea to attack them.
