Mosiah 7:4

And now, they knew not the course they should travel in the wilderness, to go up to the land of Lehi-Nephi; therefore, they wandered many days in the wilderness, even forty days did they wander.

They did not know which way to go through the wilderness to get to the land of Lehi-Nephi. So they wandered many days in the wilderness. They wandered for forty days.

But they didn’t know which way to go through the wilderness to reach Lehi-Nephi, so they wandered for forty days.
