For behold, the Lord hath said, I will not succor my people in the day of their transgression; but I will hedge up their ways, that they prosper not; and their doings shall be as a stumbling block before them.

Changes

For behold, the Lord hath said,: I will not succor my people in the day of their transgression; but I will hedge up their ways, that they prosper not; and their doings shall be as a stumbling block before them.

Simple English

“The Lord has said: ‘I will not help my people when they do wrong things. I will block their ways so they do not do well. The things they do will make them fall down.’”

Paraphrase

“The Lord has said: ‘I won’t rescue my people when they’re in rebellion. Instead I’ll block their path so they can’t succeed. Everything they do will trip them up.’”
