Mosiah 29:19

And were it not for the interposition of their all-wise Creator, and this because of their sincere repentance, they must unavoidably remained in bondage until now.

If their all-wise Creator had not helped them because they truly changed their hearts, they would still be slaves today.

If God hadn't stepped in—if they hadn't genuinely turned back to him—they'd still be slaves today.
