yea, every knee shall bow, and every tongue confess before him. Yea, even at the last day, when all men shall stand to be judged of him, then shall they confess that he is God; then shall they confess, who live without God in the world, that the judgment of an everlasting punishment is just upon them; and they shall quake, and tremble, and shrink beneath the glance of his all-searching eye.

Simple English

'Every knee will bow. Every tongue will say he is God. On the last day, when all people stand to be judged by him, they will say he is God. Those who live without God in the world will say that being punished forever is fair for them. They will shake, tremble, and shrink when his eye that sees everything looks at them.'

Paraphrase

'Every knee will bow and every tongue will confess before him. On the last day, when everyone stands to be judged by him, they will confess that he is God. Those who lived without God in the world will confess that eternal punishment is justified. They will shake and tremble and shrink back from his all-seeing gaze.'

In Joseph Smith's Plagiarism of the Bible in the Book of Mormon, Jerald and Sandra Tanner list at least 17 significant parallels between the Apostle Paul in the Bible and Alma in the Book of Mormon.

Both Alma and Paul were very wicked men before their conversation (Compare Mosiah 27:8 with 1 Timothy 1:12-13).

Both Alma and Paul were out on one of their missions of persecution on the day of their conversion (Compare Mosiah 27:10-11 with Acts 26:11-13).

In both cases of Alma and Paul's conversion, the people present fell to the earth. (Compare Mosiah 27:12 with Acts 26:14).

In the vision which followed, both Alma and Paul were asked why they fought against the work of the Lord (Compare Mosiah 27:13 with Acts 9:43).
