Mosiah 26:36

and them that would not confess their sins and repent of their iniquity, the same were not numbered among the people of the church, and their names were blotted out.

Those who would not confess their sins and turn from doing wrong were not counted as church people. Their names were removed.

Those who wouldn’t confess their sins and repent weren’t counted among the church members. Their names were erased.
